New Supervisor Training On Performance Evaluations

Now that the position has been created, youve taken the opportunity to create a PowerPoint presentation to train new supervisors on how to conduct performance evaluations.

Whether you use an annual evaluation, real-time feedback, or quarterly evaluations, it is important that new supervisors understand:

  • the rationale for a performance evaluation in general,
  • the rationale for the specific one in use,
  • the instrument used, and,
  • the process for the evaluation.

The PowerPoint presentation should be a minimum of 10 slides with graphics and Notes Pages.

NOTE: One of the positions the new supervisors will be conducting performance evaluations on is the job in your description from Week 3. Find creative ways to incorporate your work from that assignment into this one.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • You must include the Notes Pages. This is where you explain in detail the thoughts you want to convey in each slide, only in more depth.
  • Visually appealing: graphics (required) should be appropriate for the environment and audience. Text should be visible from 18 feet away (generally considered 18 pt. font or larger).

Children being so young (in third grade), they are able to recognize racism and can tell how people are treated differently. This experiment is an interesting way to show kids it does not matter how people look; everyone should be treated equal. The issue of racism is still occurring till this day.

When the experiment started taking place you could also immediately see the effect it had on the kids. It soon turned the blue-eyed kids into nasty and discriminating by the end of day. You could see the pain in the brown-eyed kids face and how lowered their self-esteem. She soon tried the reverse where brown-eyed children were better, and they were instantly more motivated and self-confident. The blue-eyed kids were soon discouraged and were not performing in school as well.

It is an important lesson to show people (including children) how much discrimination can cause a person to not perform as well and how it lowers ones self-esteem. The lesson to learn from this experiment that no one enjoys being looked down upon, and we should treat each other with respect, putting aside their looks and focusing on how they behave.

After watching Cheating Gene video, I learnt that vasopressin is important to make strong bonding between partners. But the gene 334 which is mainly present in men can cause them to cheat their partners. From Helen Fishers research, I learnt that how biology is connected to the behavior of people in love. I also learnt how our brain and hormones are associated with our capability of love and attachment. Also, I learnt the impact of women on business, society, relationship, and love.

I found both researches very informative. I was surprise to know that infidelity is caused by hormonal changes. How increase or decrease level of hormones such as dopamine, serotonin, and vasopressin affect the relationship. I agree with these researches, but I also believe that only these factors are not responsible for infidelity. I think that infidelity is caused by lack of mutual respect and trust between the partners. Also, it is caused by lack of closeness between couples where they can openly share personal feelings, expectations, care, and understanding. Blaming only the gene as cause of infidelity does not make sense.

One of my friends experienced divorce due to infidelity. In their case, wife was unfaithful because she was interested in someone else. Her husband was not making enough money, but he loved her so much. Their relationship problems grew day by day ending up with divorce.

I agree that brain and gene play an important role in human motivation and relationships, but in my opinion brain and gene alone do not cause behavior, it is also influenced by the environment.
