Assignment 2: Planned Evaluation Approach and Questions, Part 2

Due Week 5 and worth 160 points

Continue the project plan by completing Part 2.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

  1. Describe the planned approach as it applies to the object of the evaluation (selected from text, Chapters 58).
  2. Explain your rationale and provide research support for the approach. 
  3. Describe three (3) major areas with a question for each and provide three (3) sub-sets of questions for each major question. There should be a total of 12 questions altogether.  
  4. Provide a rationale and research support (external references) for the question areas. 
  5. Describe the stakeholders, analyze reasons they should be involved, and ways to obtain their involvement.
  6. Use at least three (3) peer-reviewed academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and many Websites do not qualify as academic resources. Peer-reviewed academic resources refer to articles and scholarly journals that are reviewed by a panel of experts or peers in the field. Review the video titled for more information on obtaining peer-reviewed academic resources through your Blackboard course shell.
  7. Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
  8. Typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
  9. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the students name, the professors name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
  10. Include a reference page. Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.

Diet Analysis Power Point Project

Instructions

This learning activity and the grade you will receive are completely dependent on the effort you put into the project in the form of a PowerPoint. Students will record 3 days of dietary intake, using a tracker analysis tool, and  provide an analysis with goals to demonstrate lessons learned.  

Students are expected to put some personal insight into the final presentation and submit a complete, written project consistent college-level work. This includes proper citation of references, proper grammar, correct spelling, and APA format style.Projects submitted after the publish due date and time will not be accepted, per the Course Syllabus.

INTRODUCTION 

My DAP is an opportunity to learn more about your own eating patterns and identify gaps in food groups, which can impact your nutritional health.This project requires you to use the information in the course, public access tools for measuring dietary intake, and other reliable sources of health information to create a personal assessment.

Dear Students,

You will be able to compare your intake to what the current recommendations are.

I am not expecting exact calculations on calories, and grams of all Macro and Micro nutrients.                                                          Please find the template of a food record, which you can fill in, under the ‘Diet Analysis Instructions’ 

You need to Follow the directions given for the DAP. 

The DAP is to be submitted in the format of a Power Point (minimum 10- maximun 20 slides), there is no additional paper due on this topic.

INSTRUCTIONS

On the Food Intake Record form you will record everything you eat for 3 days.

You have to generate a meal plan checklist using the Choose My Plate tool,  and analyze your meal plan.

You will then, write a summary and analysis of your diet intake.

  • You are expected to put some personal insight into the final presentation and submit a complete project consistent college-level work. This includes proper citation of references, proper grammar, correct spelling, and APA format style.
  • Need to identify the areas of strength and of weakness.
  • Compare each section with what you ate, and use this information to write your analysis.
  • Discuss reasons your intake either exceeds, meets or is below your target.
  • If there are unique reasons for large gaps or overages, you should explain that.
  • Make suggestions where changes could be made in order to meet your target amounts.
  • You will also need to address what you should do to improve your intake to make a more complete and nutritionally balanced diet.
  • Name at least one nutrient from each food group that you could be at risk if you do not meet (or if you exceed) the recommended amounts.

Hopefully, you will find this exercise insightful to your eating habits. Most importantly, evaluate your responses to some questions and you need to write a summary and analysis of your diet intake.

Confidence Intervals

 The project is broken into two parts.

 

In this Part I, you will pick a topic, complete research and provide a write-up that includes calculations. Round all values to two decimal places when appropriate.

Deliverables

  1. Choose a Topic where you can gather at least 50 pieces of data.

Examples of Topics

  1. The Golden Gate Warriors Points Per Game in 2016 (use the points scored in the first 50 games).
  2. High School Graduation Rates by State (use the graduation rates for all 50 states)
  3. Average Tuition Rates in the US (You have to find the tuition rates of 50 college/universities).
  4. The prices of a hotel room per night in a major city (You have to find the price of the same night of hotels in one city).
  5. Weights of 50 babies at birth.

Write at least a 1-Page Report in a word document with the following requirements

  1. Introduction–Provide a description of your topic and cite where you found your data.
  2. Sample DataInclude a 5×10 table including your 50 values in your report. You must provide ALL of your sample data.
  3. Problem ComputationsFor the topic you chose, you must answer the following:
  • Determine the mean and standard deviation of your sample.
  • Find the 80%, 95%, and 99% confidence intervals.
  • Make sure to list the margin of error for the 80%, 95%, and 99% confidence interval.
  • Create your own confidence interval (you cannot use 80%, 95%, and 99%) and make sure to show your work. Make sure to list the margin of error.
  1. Problem AnalysisWrite a half-page reflection on the following
  • What trend do you see takes place to the confidence interval as the confidence level rises? Explain mathematically why that takes place.
  • Provide a sentence for each confidence interval created in part c) which explains what the confidence interval means in context of topic of your project.
  • Explain how Part I of the project has helped you understand confidence intervals better?
  • How did this project help you understand statistics better?
