Return to the Developing Research Questions assignment from Module/Week 3. With interview transcripts in hand, create a code book for interviews. Begin in small groups, look at the ways people coded their respective interviews. See if there is agreement on major and minor codes. Discuss the different kinds of stories each coding scheme might tell. Cut and sort by major and minor codes looking for patterns, relationships, further categorizations. Make note of analytical findings. Hold onto these clumps of coded data for a future exercise.

Discuss the following scenario: Staff members from the marketing department of your firm are doing a splendid job selling products to customers. Many of the customers are so pleased that they are also buying shares in the companys stock, which means that they receive a copy of the firms annual report. Unfortunately, questions sometimes arise that the marketing staff members are woefully inadequate at answering. Technical questions about the firms financial condition and performance are referred to the chief financial officer, but the director of marketing has asked you to write a memo in which you explain the key elements in an annual report so that marketing representatives are better prepared to respond to questions of a more general nature.

For your initial post, write a clear, concise memo (no more than 250 words) that describes the contents of an annual report so marketing personnel can understand the basic requirements of an annual report. Reference this weeks readings and lecture to help organize and explain your thoughts. In addition, answer the following questions:

  • Do you think all marketing staff members should be equipped to speak with the public about the firms financial matters?
  • What are some of the benefits of improving employee financial literacy?

Is it possible to give naturalistic (e.g. biological) definitions of disease and health? Why is it important to think about what constitutes disease and health?

Backup Policies

Securing company data is not as simple as backing up to another hard drive. It is important to have backup tools, processes, and policies for both business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

In this section of your playbook, create a 3- to 4-page outline of backup policies for when the data center is inaccessible.

Include the following in your outline:
*A list and description of tools used for backup purposes
*An explanation of the following:
*Where employees should work from that day
*How employees can get to their data
*The communication methods about updates
*A step-by-step guide to recover your databases and telecommunications
*A step-by-step guide to recover and provide any additional company assets
