This semester you will write a paper in which you will apply theoretical concepts and ideas from course materials to a current health event or health issue as negotiated in (1) a popular press article, or (2) popular entertainment such as a primetime health drama, or  (3) a recent movie whose subject matters focuses on a health-related issue(s).  The theoretical concepts should be from readings used in the course.  In addition to demonstrating your ability to apply ideas to salient issues outside of the classroom, this assignment requires you to critically evaluate the merit of the article, the medical drama, or the health-themed movie in light of course material.
