Metropolitan Museum of Art

Introduce the paper by offering background information about the current status of social networks and their role in marketing communication in marketing organizations, their products and/or services.

Issue

Discuss the organization you have selected for this paper and why you selected it. What is problematic about this organization’s social media efforts? Relate this to the mission or vision of the company: how should social media strategy advance the vision of an organization, and where does the selected organization fall short?

Target

Describe the central audience of the organization. What are the differentiating characteristics of this target audience? Relate this to the content of its social media. Does the content you analyzed enhance or detract from the organization’s relationship with its affiliates (customers/donors/members/participants, etc.)?
SWOT Analysis

Conduct a SWOT analysis of the organization and discuss each of the four components of SWOT as they relate to the organization’s social media efforts.

Social Media Plan

Based on what you know about the organization, its mission, target audience and strengths, and weaknesses, provide a strategic social media plan you believe would be best used by this organization to reach its central audience. Include the rationale for your selection of social media. For each social media channel in your plan, provide the following information in this order:

A. List the social network
B. Briefly state how the particular social network is appropriate for your central audience. This section is based on your findings from the target audience analysis, so it should be documented and specific.
C. Describe the type of content you will provide in that tool. Provide several examples of the content as if the messages were actually posted online. Content must be inspirational, engaging, and relevant to your audience.
