Operant and Respondent Conditioning

In this unit, we explore two types of learningoperant and respondent conditioning. With respondent conditioning, individuals emit reflexive behavior in the presence of certain stimuli. With operant conditioning, behaviors continue to occur, or not, due to the consequences that follow them. As behavior analysts, we frequently use operant conditioning to teach new behaviors (and eliminate old behaviors) by manipulating the consequences that follow them. Respondent conditioning is also used by behavior analysts, for example, by establishing various reinforcers through pairing of stimuli.

For this assignment, complete the following:

1. Define operant and respondent conditioning.
2. Describe the similarities and differences between these two types of learning.
3. Provide two real-world, detailed examples of operant conditioning and two real-world, detailed examples of respondent conditioning.

Police Brutality – Policy

Why do you think this policy is significant?
What is the title of the policy you have chosen to focus on?
What level is the policy (local, state, or national)? Is this level appropriate for a policy addressing this problem?
When was the policy enacted & who were the proponents and opponents?
What is the current status of the policy?
What are the stated goals and objectives of the policy?

Professor’s comment in regards to policy brutality 1 document:
Good start to this paper. I think you need to expand a bit more on the data that provides evidence of the problem. You did a better job explaining some of the policy solutions used over time than you did establish the problem. Establishing the problem is the initial way to get buy-in from your audience that this issue is significant and something that they should care about; however, you should stick to the facts in a paper like this as you have been, rather than appealing to morals or values – so good job with that.

The focus of this assignment will be on the foundation and processes that have been established, bringing the U.S. health care system where it is today. You will also consider how current and future plans for financing and reimbursement are currently impacting cost and access of health care.

Create a 12 slide presentation that includes detailed speaker notes for each slide. In your presentation, explore the following points:

How was health care insurance established in the United States?
What is the purpose of different health care insurances? (i.e., private, group, self, public)
What is cost sharing, and how has this impacted health care?
What reimbursement methods are presently used? (e.g., bundled services, fee-for-service)
What are retrospective and prospective reimbursements? What are some positives and negatives of each?
Present and future national health expenditures. Provide a brief overview. How do they influence health care insurance at the present and how will they in the future?
Do not count the title slide or the references slide when determining whether you have met the required number of slides for this assignment.

A minimum of three references, in addition to your textbook, are required for this assignment.This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Communications Management Plan

Based on the Stakeholder Analysis and Management Plan, students will create a formal communication plan. A project communications management plan describes in detail the types of communications that will take place in the project, and specifies forms to use for certain types of key project information that must be transferred among team members and to key stakeholders that have a vested interest in the project or an influence on the project. As the project manager, students will need to develop the policies and procedures for all means of communication across the project, taking into account the requirements for communicating with the sponsor, stakeholders, vendors, and project team. Produce a formal Communication Plan in accordance to Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) that includes a matrix to set a framework in place that allows team members and stakeholders to understand when, how, and what communications will occur. Package this document into a presentable format that could be issued to all team members, stakeholders and the sponsor once approved. Suggested package should contain 5-7 pages in APA format.

Information in the Communication Plan should include but not be limited to the following:

1. Matrix
a. Information to be communicated, including language, format, content, and level of details;
b. Time frame and frequency for the distribution of required information;
c. Person responsible for communicating the information;
d. Person or groups who will receive the information;
e. Methods or technologies used to convey the information, such as memos, e-mail, and/or press releases;
f. Resources allocated for communication activities
2. Escalation process identifying time frames and the management chain (names) for escalation of issues that cannot be resolved at a lower staff level;
3. Method for updating and refining the communications management plan as the project progresses and develops;
4. Communication constraints, usually derived from specific legislation or regulation, technology, and organizational policies, etc.
a. Policy for confidential or restricted information.
b. How do you define these and how should the team members handle such situations?
c. Policy for communication outside the project team, stakeholders, and sponsor group.

The highest scores on this assignment will be for a practical project communications management plan containing information specific to the projects requirements and deliverable(s), which name specific people and roles and address the practical communication requirements that exist for this project, demonstrating that you can produce a professional document.  Assignments should not contain generic material imported from somewhere else as this will not be appropriate for this situation and will lose points.
