Need Help With A Accounting Discussion Question

Please make sure the answer is Original and have at least 350 words. I need it completed by tomorrow by 8 pm.

In this weeks discussion, we will be looking at some of the differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS, which is the set of accounting rules followed by just about every industrialized nation outside the U.S.  While there are many similarities between the two systems, there are also some significant differences.  After learning a little bit about some of the similarities and differences, please reflect somewhat on how these differences might impact financial statement analysis, or if you think they actually would.

Review the sections on international accounting (IFRS) (See pages 9, 10, 59, 184, 267, 339, 376, 431, 489, 556, 568, 571, 668, 701.)

  1. Discuss the major similarities and differences between U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
  2. Which of the differences do you find most interesting?
  3. If there is a convergence between U.S. GAAP and IFRS, would you choose the U.S. GAAP or IFRS method? Why?

Stockholder Reports

The global business environment is constantly evolving based on the forces in the general and task environment. In order to sustain the company and maintain a competitive foothold, organization leaders must consistently analyze the global environment and adjust their strategy as needed. Managers play an important role in implementing strategies to achieve a companys mission and goals.

Research a company with stockholder reports available. These reports can usually be found on a companys website. Use the report to answer the following questions:

What is (are) the main industry(ies) in which the company competes?

What business-level strategy does the company seem to be pursuing in this industry? Why?

What corporate-level strategies is the company pursuing? Why?

Have there been any major changes in its strategy recently? Why?

Share your response in a minimum of 175 words and include citations.

The successful submission will state the differences in active and passively managed funds from a cost standpoint and make an informed assessment of the degree to which the additional costs are or are not justified.

The scavenging principle

The scavenging principle at work in the novel runs counter to the theme of erasure, which itself culminates in the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. For Kip, scavenging is a “natural trait” (188). Develop an essay that focuses on this theme, and applies it to one or several characters in the novel. Alternatively, you may choose to explore the scavenging principle as a narrative technique employed by Ondaatje in The English Patient.
