Analysis of Requirements

1. Posting at least one structured question: provide a paragraph with the context introducing the concept(s), followed by a question that either be interesting, controversial, or both (make your question attractive for others to reply to your question and initiate a conversation) ——————————————————————————————————————
Activity:

Module 3, assumes that in the planning phase we were able to define a basic scope of a project that supports the strategic objectives of the organization and now we are researching requirements through techniques such as interviews, surveys. or join application development. The requirements identified need to be summarized and shared with stakeholders to ensure that we understand the requirements.

Thus, chapter 6 introduces students to several methods that systems analysts use to determine requirements for a proposed system. This chapter categorizes the requirements gathering techniques as traditional, modern, or radical. The traditional requirements gathering techniques are interviews, questionnaires, Nominal Group Technique, and documents analysis. The modern requirements determination techniques include Joint Application Design (JAD), group support systems, prototyping, and CASE tools. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is a radical method for determining system requirements.

Next, chapter 7 covers several modeling techniques for representing business processes, and specifically, data flow diagramming (DFD) techniques are introduced. Basic DFD symbols, definitions, and rules are explained (Gane and Sarson symbol set is used in the book). Four different types of DFDs are explained: current physical, current logical, new logical and new physical. Finally, an overview of the process modeling for an Internet-based electronic commerce application is presented.

Based on the previously discussed context, you will post at least one question and respond or comment to at least one question or comment posted by other participants in the discussion board. Your question(s) or comment(s) should go beyond the conceptual domain but also describe or explore how this knowledge can be applied to your current or future professional activities or endeavors.

I expect your posts to be original in all aspects. Consequently, you should not use questions from your textbook for your posting. Further, use secondary references that provide additional information or support a better understanding of chapters covered in the module.

Conflict Resolution

Competency

Evaluate the impact of professionalism on children, families, and community.

Scenario Information

You are a mentor teacher at All Kids Childcare and Education. Part of your job is to ensure that teachers work well together. Recently, you heard from a teacher that co-teachers Julie and Kimberly were not speaking to each other. You did an informal observation of the two teachers working in the two-year-olds classroom and found that they were not communicating at all. Their non-verbal communication to each other was cold and at times rude. You know the importance of co-teachers working well together for the benefit of the children.

You called Julie and Kimberly into your office and asked them what was going on. They immediately started to tell their sides of the story and were talking over each other. It took patience, but you finally got both teachers side of the story straight. Julie was upset because she felt like Kimberly did not change her share of the diapers. Kimberly felt that she did all of the meal preparation and cleaning, so when Julie spoke to her about changing more diapers, she became upset. You know that you must work with these two teachers to help them settle their conflict.

Instructions

Use what you know about effective communication and communication styles to write a script to show how to resolve this conflict. Write the script (with dialogue formatted in the style of a play) to describe what happens next. Be sure to choose a conflict resolution strategy that best handles the situation and include action descriptions in your script.

It is important that you try to see this situation from both sides. The script should include the three of you talking. Clearly mark what you would say, as well as how each of the teachers would respond. Be specific and give the teachers background storylines that align with the reasons they are upset. Your script should give each teacher fair opportunities to state their case, while you use conflict resolution terminology from this module. Your script should be at least three pages in length and well-edited. Please include a cover page.

Research Concept ()
In no more than one page, describe the research topic you intend to study. Give enough information so the reader can understand your topic and intended focus. While the topic is yours to decide, it must require the collection of both primary and secondary data. Provide a clear rationale for the research that explains the significance of the topic. Propose the method that you recommend be used to collect the primary research, either interviews or surveys, as appropriate. Publication Summaries ()
Summarize two publications(at least one academic; the other could be from a respected publication) which directly relate to your proposed topic. If in doubt about the appropriateness of a particular publication, consult with the library staff. Each summary should be about a page in length and will be evaluated on its accuracy to the article. The quality of the article will also be assessed in the evaluation. Reference List ()
Cite your two publications in APA format

war and ethics

In “Just and Unjust War,” Howard Zinn presents a pacifist position against World War II. What do you think are the strongest points he makes that could be generalized beyond World War II to war in general? If you do not think he makes any strong arguments, tell me why you think his argument is weak? Is his position consistent with just war theory discussed in Amstutz, Chapter 7? Explain. Draw upon Zinn’s argument and just war theory to respond to the question, “Does the failure to find weapons of mass destruction invalidate the moral justification for going to war against Iraq?”
