Mental health in high-performance athletes

For the literature review assignment you will be required to:

1) Select an area of research in the health sciences:
Mental health in high-performance athletes
– Introduction
– Depression
– Anxiety
– Eating disorders
– Table
– Conclusion

2) Explain to the reader why this area of research is important. This may be at the local, provincial, national, or global level.

4) Synthesize the information from the reviewed literature. For example, do not just report each article in turn but summarize similar methods and findings etc.

5) Discuss the methodologies and/or theoretical bases of the reviewed articles. Include the strengths and weaknesses of the articles in your literature review.

6) Use tables and/or figures to effectively present information in your literature review.

7) Make sure references are presented in the text and at the end of the paper. It does not matter what reference style you use as long as it is correct and consistent.

8) IMPORTANTLY, include the gaps in the literature identified in your review and the future directions for research in this area. Conclude the paper by answering the following questions: a) what study(ies) could be conducted to advance knowledge in this area?
b) Why would this/these study(ies) be important?

Just need to write the introduction and here is the required references:

Narrative/Descriptive

Analyze and interpret this passage. Respond to the topic within the Discussions Tool, discussing your understanding of the ideas that Kalidasa expresses.
Review chapters eight and nine of Strategies for Successful Writing to review narrative and descriptive essays.
Write a narrative essay focusing on one incident in your life that illustrates the ideas presented in Kalidasa’s poem.
Include descriptive details to convey clear imagery of the elements of your story. Remember to consider all of the senses: taste, touch, smell, sight, and sound. Create a dominant impression.
You will make at least one reference to an idea from the Kalidasa poem by quoting a word or phrase from his work.  The quote can appear anywhere in your essay, where it most logically emerges.
Next, provide some transition that links the poem to the opening of your story.
Throughout the essay, you might occasionally refer to ideas from the poem to provide a connection to the details of your experience.
You might use the three major statements-“The bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty”-to organize the major points and events of your story.
Since this essay is a narrative, you must focus on presenting action. A narrative recreates action.
The action is often motivated by conflict. The events of our lives and our world are often shaped by conflicts that need to be overcome or resolved.
Remember you are focusing only on one specific incident as the basis of your narrative.
In your concluding paragraph, you may make a reference to the poem. Your reference should reveal the thesis of the narrative-the main point that you are making with the story or the main lesson learned.
The audience for this paper is your classmates. Assume that you are telling them your story to illustrate a specific point.
The verb tense in telling your story should be past tense, unless a statement logically requires present tense.  Be consistent in maintaining the verb tense.
You may use the pronoun “I” in the narrative.  This is your story.  However, avoid overusing “I.”  It often is not necessary to use it while explaining events.
Choose only key events in telling the story.  Avoid explaining every detail that occurred.  You will bore the reader with too much verbiage.

Mastectomy

You are required to create a PowerPoint presentation on the surgical procedure known as Mastectomy. You will need to:

– Briefly describe the procedure.
– Describe why a patient would need the procedure.
– Describe any preparations that are required before the procedure.
– Describe any precautions after the procedure.
– Describe when to seek medical attention.
– Describe the time for recovery (if this is not applicable, indicate n/a).
– Use patient-friendly terminology for the procedure.
– Include your references.

The format of the Powerpoint is entirely up to you, but please make it AESTHETICALLY PLEASING and COMPREHENSIBLE as much as possible. Any sources (CREDIBLE SOURCES) used for information/research must be cited in proper APA format with in-text citations and a References page. The PowerPoint presentation should not be text-heavy.

Ensure the slides are devoid of grammar and punctual mistakes and adhere to university or post-grad readability. Your tone of language should be sophisticated. If you do have any questions or concerns regarding the order, feel free to let me know, and I will respond to you as soon as possible.
