Creating correct in-text citations and your Reference page in the APA style are the last elements you will need for your final Semester Project submission in Week 14. 

Refer to Chapter 9 of our text for guidance on how to format in-text (pp.169-171) and full (Reference page) citations (pp.172-175).

Finally, use the “In-Text Citation” and “Reference Page” practice sheets attached above to practice creating in-text citations with direct quotes and Reference page citations for your actual Semester Project. Follow the instructions on each practice sheet and submit for Professor input via attachment to this assignment.

Please submit assignments via Blackboard by Monday, January 13 at 11:59pm.

Week 12 Discussion

Chapter 12 discusses continuing the “scholarly conversation.” After reviewing this Chapter, comment on this concept from the perspective of what it means to you post-LIB100, as you continue to move forward both scholastically and professionally. Consider the following in your comment:

  • What does the term, “scholarly conversation” mean to you?
  • How successful do you feel you were in creating new information with your Semester Project? Why, or why not?
  • How do you see yourself as a current and continuing information creator, not just an information consumer?

Safe Harbor Provisions Under HIPAA

Write an essay of at least 500 words discussing the Safe Harbor provisions under HIPAA.  

Do not copy without providing proper attribution. This paper will be evaluated through SafeAssign. 

Write in essay format not in outline, bulleted, numbered or other list format.  

Use the five paragraph format. Each paragraph must have at least five sentences. 

Include an interesting meaninful title.

Include at least one quote from each of 3 different articles, place the words you copied (do not alter or paraphrase the words) in quotation marks and cite in-line (as all work copied from another should be handled). The quotes should be one  full sentence (no more, less) and should be incorporated in your discussion (they do not replace your discussion) to illustrate or emphasize your ideas. Each quote must be cited in-line and at the end. 

Cite your sources in a clickable reference list at the end. Do not copy without providing proper attribution (quotation marks and in-line citations). Write in essay format not in bulleted, numbered or other list format. 

It is important that you use your own words, that you cite your sources, that you comply with the instructions regarding length of your submission.

Do not use spinbot or other word replacement software. It usually results in nonsense and is not a good way to learn anything. I will not spend a lot of my time trying to decipher nonsense. Proof read your work or have it edited. Find something interesting and/or relevant to your work to write about.  Please do not submit attachments unless requested.

Oligopolistic Industries

An oligopoly is characterized by a relatively small number of firms offering a similar product or service. Oligopoly products may be branded, as in soft drinks, cereals, and athletic shoes, or unbranded, as in crude oil, aluminum, and cement. The main distinction of oligopoly is that the number of firms is small enough that actions by any individual firm on price, output, product style, quality, introduction of new models, and terms of sale has an impact on the sales of other firms in the industry. Review the Table 12.1 (pg. 416), select a dominant single firm, duopoly firm, and triopoly firm and discuss if you foresee any weaknesses in the three firms you selected that would allow entrance into this market or if one of the firm has enough strength to become a monopoly?
