The primary role of a team

Working with teams is an excellent way to help clients receive quality services. Below are three short vignettes of teams that support service delivery. For each vignette, address the following two components:

Describe what you believe is the primary role of the team.
Explain how the client benefits from the team approach.
For each vignette, compose responses of two-three paragraphs. Your final submission must address both questions for all three vignettes and should be between two-three pages. Additionally, ensure you are citing from three scholarly sources throughout your paper. Ensure each source is cited properly in APA.

Vignette #1: Five professionals are gathered together to consider cases of four adolescents arrested for first-time possession of cocaine. The judge from juvenile court refers offenders to the case management team for assessment and services instead of incarceration. The professionals include a family specialist from the department of human services, a probation officer, a psychologist, a mental health counselor serving as the case manager, and a school liaison.

Vignette #2: Lakewood Hills, Inc. provides support services for Alzheimer’s patients and their families. Each patient and family is assigned a case manager who spearheads the service delivery. Each week the case manager chairs a discussion with other professionals who provide an array of services such as physical care, home health services, respite care, and educational services that foster positive psychological development for patients and caregivers.

Vignette #3: Family members participate in a group cooperative that they have formed themselves. Each family has at least one member with persistent mental illness. As a result of the families’ cooperative, they are able to advocate for their family members. To date, they provide a group daycare, organize outings to the mall and movies, dispense medications daily, and coordinate time for caretakers to take days off from caregiving. The cooperative hired one case manager, who works two hours a day to advise and support these efforts of the families.

Social Work Discussion (BIA)

Social workers strive to make informed decisions about the interventions they implement. These decisions should be driven by what the research data say. As a result, social workers have been called to systematically evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions they implement. A common way to evaluate interventions is to use a single-subject design. This involves monitoring an outcome for an intervention implemented for one client. After a social worker works with the client to determine the outcome to be measured, the following steps to the evaluation might look like this:

Administer the instrument before the intervention is implemented
Implement the intervention
Administer the same instrument, after a specified time period
Monitor to determine if there have been any changes in the outcome
In this Discussion, you use the lens of resiliency theory when reflecting on a case from your fieldwork, and then you consider how to measure the effectiveness of a possible intervention.

To prepare, read this article listed in the Learning Resources:

Smith-Osborne, A., & Whitehill Bolton K. (2013). Assessing resilience: A review of measures across the life course. Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work, 10(2), 111–126. doi:10.1080/15433714.2011.597305
BY DAY 3
Post:

Reflect on your fieldwork experience, and identify a case where it would have been beneficial to employ resiliency theory. Describe the case in 2 sentences.
Describe the presenting problem in one concise sentence.
Describe an intervention you would implement to promote resiliency.
Identify an instrument from the Smith-Osborne and Whitehill Bolton’s article that would be appropriate when employing a single-subject design to evaluate how effective the intervention is in increasing the client’s level of resiliency.
Explain why you selected the instrument.
In other words, why would the instrument be appropriate? (Consider the age of the client and for whom the instrument was designed, how feasible it would be to administer the instrument such as cost, time to administer it, etc.).

Computer-Aided Modeling and Simulation techniques

In process and chemical engineering, dynamic process models based on conservation laws have become an indispensable tool for the development of new processes and the improvement of existing ones. However, the development of realistic and predictive models is a challenging and time consuming task. The major targets in model building are to choose, validate and revise the physical model assumptions to accomplish the mechanistical sense. Modeling is an iterative process so as the simulation. Virtually every model of a complex process is inadequate at the beginning and requires a lot of refinements before it delivers a satisfactory result. Often, it is necessary that experts from different fields share their knowledge during the model development process. With this background

(i) Give a brief note on the role of computer aided modeling and simulation techniques for the analysis, design and control of process engineering systems. (minimum 4 pages )

(ii) Brief the main objectives of the computer aided modeling and simulation system. (minimum 3 pages )

(iii) Critically analyse the applicability, domain, features and advantages of the various simulation and modeling systems available in process engineering. (minimum 5 pages )

(iv) Indicate the various role that is expected from such a Computer Aided Modeling and Simulation(CAMS) system (minimum 3 pages )

Note:

-Include relevant pictures, diagrams, charts, graphs, tables etc for each part of the question . Give proper in-text-citations and reference (APA/Harvard style)

  • Headings 1-14point font, Headings 2 – 12 point font, Body text -11 point font, line spacing 1.5,font face – Times New Roman and paragraph spacing – single line spacing with no borders.

MS6010 M4A1 Discussion – ABC or Activity Based CostingAnswers 3Bids 1Other questions 10

Assignment 1: Discussion—ABC or Activity-Based Costing In your readings this module, you were introduced to Activity-Based Costing or ABC. It is a method used to determine a reliable predetermined benchmark for the allocation of overhead costs to the products produced based on their activity levels. In this discussion, we will work a case study on ABC together. For your initial response, attempt to answer the questions yourself and post all the required items into the Discussion Area. You may want to post some elements during different days so the class can work this problem together. Then in your response postings, help each other with misunderstandings or miscalculations.  Tasks: Examine the case below and then…Calculate the amount of overhead allocated to small and large advertising campaigns under existing methods.Apply activity-based costing to calculate the cost per cost driver for each of the cost pools.Use the costs per cost driver to calculate the activity-based overhead applicable to small and large campaigns.Calculate the percentage to be added to direct advertising costs to recover overhead costs under activity-based costing. Merit-o-cracy PLC is a specialist advertising agency. It has been long-established but is experiencing difficulties in winning new business. The Chief Executive believes that its pricing methods are leading to the loss of large customer advertising campaigns while it is consistently winning smaller business. Merit-o-cracy costs work for pricing purposes on the basis of direct advertising costs (i.e. space or time purchased from newspapers, radio and TV) plus 100%. The 100% is intended to cover all the overheads of the business, which run at $2 million per year. It does not include any profit margin. This budget cost comprises: Creative staff                                        $500,000 Production staff                                    $750,000 Administrative & support staff              $300,000 Rental and associated costs                  $450,000 Merit-o-cracy classifies its advertising campaigns as either small or large. Of the 350 campaigns the agency wins, about 325 are classified as small. A typical small advertising campaign incurs direct advertising costs of $4,000 each (and therefore is allocated $4,000 of overheads under current methods). The other 25 advertising campaigns are large and incur direct advertising costs of $28,000 each. Merit-o-cracy’s accountant has heard of activity-based costing. After speaking to the management team, she has gathered information on the most common causes of costs. She believes that creative staff costs are linked to the number of advertising campaigns the agency competes for. Production staff costs are related to the number of advertising campaigns the agency wins. Administrative and support staff costs are related to the number of customers the agency has. Rental and associated costs are people-based and as a similar number of staff is employed in each of the three departments, the costs should be equally shared. The accountant has also collected data on the activity levels in each of the three departments over the budget period. These are:             Creative                         800 advertising campaigns the agency bids for400 of these are bids for large campaigns and 400 for small campaigns             Production 350 advertising campaigns the agency wins325 of these are small campaigns and 25 large campaigns             Admin & support             400 customers the agency services300 of these are customers with small campaigns and 100 have large campaigns Submission Details: By Saturday, March 11, 2017, post your initial response to the Discussion Area below.
