Preview and utilize the “Topic 1 Checklist.” This resource will assist you in organizing your work and will provide additional information regarding the assignment.

Consider the clinical environment in which you are currently working or have recently worked. Collaborate with a leader or educator in the clinical environment to identify a problem, issue, or educational deficit upon which to build a proposal for change.

In a paper of no more than 800 words, describe the nature of the problem, issue, or educational deficit. Include the following in your discussion:

  1. The setting and/or context in which the problem, issue, or educational deficit can be observed.
  2. Detailed description of the problem, issue, or educational deficit.
  3. Impact of the problem, issue, or educational deficit on the work environment, the quality of care provided by staff, and patient outcomes.
  4. Gravity of the problem, issue, or educational deficit and its significance to nursing.

-You may use any musical examples except for: a) musical examples discussed in detail in the textbook or on MindTap, or b) musical examples that you have discussed in an initial post or response post to a classmate.

-You may use musical examples by an artist or performer discussed in the textbook/MindTap or in your discussion posts, but the musical examples that you discuss in the essay must be different from ones discussed in the textbook/MindTap or your discussion posts.

Paper Length

-Each paper should contain at least the minimum number of full pages, excluding the title page, bibliography, and any appendices. Paper 3 should be at least three full pages in length. You are welcome to exceed the recommended paper length for any assignment.

Citations and Works-Cited Page

-The paper should include at least three references (in addition to the textbook). Also include entries for each musical example discussed in detail (performer, title of piece, and link).

-Each paper should contain in-text citations throughout the text of the essay and a works-cited/bibliography page at the end of the paper.

-Citations for the main musical examples should be included in the text and listed on the works-cited page as well. Include the title, name(s) of the performers, and link for each of your main musical examples.

-You may use any standard format (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.) for footnotes and endnotes as long as you keep the same style throughout the paper.

How can you avoid presenting a negative model? 

One way that I can avoid presenting a negative model to my students is to treat everyone the same.  I need to make sure I do not play favorites to one student over another.  I also need to find a way t relate to my students in a positive manner.  It is important that I have a good attitude when entering the classroom.  I need to be honest with my students and if I make promises it is important that I keep them in order to earn their trust.  i will also make sure that I am prepared for teaching each and every day so that my students see how much I take teaching seriously.

How will you make sure you are making ethical decisions in preparing and conducting courses?

One way I can make sure that I am making ethical decisions is to treat all of my students in the same way.  If one students asks for a chance to retake a test or quiz and I allow it, then I need to make sure that option is available to everyone and not just that one student.  It is important that my students see that i do not treat some students differently than others.  I will also make sure that I never accept bribes in order to provide a student with a good grade.

What strategies will you use to avoid unethical behavior toward students?

I will treat each and every student with respect.  I will not engage in favoritism with any of my students.  I will listen to what my students have to tell me, and keep that information confidential.  If I see a student who is cheating I will address it with the student right away so my students understand that this is something that will not be tolerated.  I will provide my students with a syllabus that outlines rules and expectations of the course.  I will also make sure to address any kind of harassment or discrimination issues in my classroom right away in order to provide a safe and respectful classroom.
