Compare and contrast (a) the core values that the organization espouses and (b) the values reflected by the organization’s actions in your consumer experience.

Write an essay that is a minimum of two pages in length, analyzing a negative experience you have had as a consumer. Specifically, discuss the following points.
1. Tell the story, in detail, of a specific negative experience that you had as a consumer.
2. Discuss the core values espoused by that organization. Incorporate information about that organization’s values using resources about the organization found in the Waldorf Online Library, the organization’s website, a YouTube video created and posted by the organization, and/or the organization’s social media sites. (If this is a small organization that does not have a website, YouTube, or social media sites, and no library resources are available on this organization, rely on your observations of the organization’s espoused values.)
3. Compare and contrast (a) the core values that the organization espouses and (b) the values reflected by the organization’s actions in your consumer experience.
4. In your analysis, integrate the concepts, and support your analysis with library resources. Incorporate a minimum of five resources in your essay. Of the five resources, include a minimum of three resources from the unit lesson, readings, or other sources from the online library. Of the five resources, at least one resource should be a primary source (e.g., website, social media site, or YouTube video posted by the organization), which emphasizes the organization’s espoused values.

Elaborate on how (or whether) the SES impacts the work equation between a service delivery provider and a service delivery recipient.

Socioeconomic Status

Interestingly, researchers have found that many of the cultural issues that apparently impact the human services delivery recipient are actually related to the socioeconomic status (SES) rather than other cultural factors.

In this assignment, you will focus on SES.

Tasks:

Elaborate on how (or whether) the SES impacts the work equation between a service delivery provider and a service delivery recipient. Be specific in your responses and illustrate using examples.

Critically analyze various components of culture and discuss how and whether they relate to the human services industry.

Diversity and Families

Throughout this course, you have learned about various aspects of multiculturalism. You have also been asked to critically analyze various components of culture and discuss how and whether they relate to the human services industry.

In Module 5, the focus has been on aspects of diversity related to the family; however, there are a few aspects of diversity that can impact a family that have not been highlighted in this course—age and disability. As the average life span continues to grow, more family members are caring for their elderly parents. Also, family members are frequently taking care of a child, spouse, parent, or extended relative with a disability, and it is important to consider disability in broad terms (i.e., a child with autism, a sister with multiple sclerosis, etc.).

Tasks:

In a minimum of 300 words, post your responses to the following:

With regard to the human services industry, what challenges might families face when it comes to caring for an elderly family member or a family member with a disability?
What are some resources available for families in these situations? Because disability is a broad category, you may identify a specific disability to address. Be specific in your responses and illustrate using examples.
