This is a continuation of the first and second assignments and uses your accumulated research. Imagine you are two different lobbyists, supporting two different sides of the policy issue you wrote about in Assignment 2.
Submit your Assignment 1 and 2 revisions based on your professor’s feedback. You will be graded on your revisions. Then, write a 4-5 page paper in which you:

Write a one-page position in favor of the policy.

Write a one-page response to the argument in favor of the policy.

Examine your state’s constitution and explain the following in your paper:

Is your policy topic addressed in your state’s constitution? If the policy is not directly addressed in the constitution, what constitutional provisions indirectly affect the policy area? For example, does the constitution give the legislative or the executive branch greater responsibility for the policy area?

According to the preamble to the U.S. Constitution, one (1) of the founding philosophies of the United States is that each person, citizen or not, is endowed with certain permanent rights. This philosophy extends even to people who have committed crimes that warrant prison sentences. Imagine that you are a commissioner on the Board of State Prison, and you are responsible for making recommendations regarding inmate rights and special circumstances. Use the Internet to research costs that an inmate could incur if he or she chooses to challenge his or her confinement.
Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

Analyze the legal mechanisms in which an inmate can challenge his or her confinement. Support or refute the cost of such challenges to the state and / or federal government. Provide a rationale for your response.
