Anticholesterol medicine rosuvastatin calcium

Treatment with the anticholesterol medicine rosuvastatin calcium did not reduce the risk of fracture among men and women who had elevated levels of an inflammatory biomarker, according to a report published online by JAMA Internal Medicine

Fractures resulting from the bone-weakening disease osteoporosis are a burden facing an aging population. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and osteoporosis may share common biological pathways with inflammation key to the development of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and possibly the development of osteoporosis. Several studies suggest statin users may have a reduced risk of fractures, while other studies find no association, according to the study background.

Jessica M. Pena, M.D., M.P.H., of Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, and co-authors examined whether statin therapy reduced the risk of fracture in the JUPITER (Justification for the Use of Statins in Prevention: an Intervention Trial Evaluating Rosuvastatin) trial that enrolled 17,802 men (older than 50 years) and women (older than 60 years). Participants had inflammatory biomarker high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels of at least 2 mg/L. Participants were divided equally in two groups: one group received 20 mg daily of rosuvastatin while the other received placebo.

There were 431 fractures reported during the study with 221 fractures among participants who took rosuvastatin compared with 210 fractures among individuals who received placebo, according to the study results. The incidence of fracture in the rosuvastatin group was 1.20 per 100 person-years and in the placebo group 1.14 per 100 person-years. Overall, Mouse Progesterone ELISA Kit http://www.cusabio.com/ELISA_Kit-98268/ was not associated with an increased risk of fracture.

“Our study does not support the use of statins in doses used for cardiovascular disease prevention to reduce the risk of fracture,” the study concludes.

What is the relevance of music, including pre-loss music therapy experiences, for bereaved informal caregivers of people who have died from advanced cancer?

Literature Review Outline

1) When working with adult grievers, music therapists have used compositional techniques, music in rituals, and improvisation to help the grievers process their experiences.  Wilkerson

2)  When working with adult grievers, music therapists have used compositional techniques, music in rituals, and improvisation to help the grievers process their experiences.  Wlodarczyk

3)RQ: What is the relevance of music, including pre-loss music therapy

experiences, for bereaved informal caregivers of people who have

died from advanced cancer?  Stories from participants offer insight into how music can improve mood, energies, inspire a new interest, and help one to fondly remember a deceased person or to endure harrowing visceral grief experiences and adjust, albeit painfully, to ones ongoing altered life. O’Callahan

4) This article describes the development of a music therapy-multidisciplinary intervention known as the ‘‘Remembrance Ceremony,’’ based on Running’s 4 elements of ritual. The intervention consisted of live reflective music, readings, a platform for expressing loss and emotion, and a ceremony to bless the healers’ hands. Programmatic evaluation provides preliminary evidence supporting the face validity and acceptability of the grief intervention. Popkin

5) Studies reveal that bereaved children and teenagers require familiar, enjoyable, and

age-relevant supports. This paper describes a home-based music therapy

. Roberts

6) Music is of equal importance with verbal processing as part of the overall therapeutic approach. Musical improvisation is also used as a primary tool to reflect back to, and affirm for, the patient the affective content of his or her life story. Bright

7)The purpose of the current project was to design and pilot a music therapy-driven grief processing assessment instrument with bereaved adolescents receiving group songwriting interventions. The focus of the present study was to ascertain if a seven-week songwriting group treatment protocol would assist the grieving process of adolescents who have experienced the death of a loved one as measured by the newly-developed Grief Process Scale. Dalton

8) This single subject case study demonstrates that Guided Imagery and Music can be an effective avenue for the expression and resolution of significantly painful material that is often unspeakable in day-to-day contexts . Kirkland

9) The authors propose that the nature of adolescent grief and loss demands a participatory orientation, regardless of the formal research methodology used. McFerran

10)The intrapsychic functions of music in the mourning process are explored, as is music as a unique response to trauma and as a special aesthetic expression of a range of affects connected with grief. Stein

RESEARCH BY PAIR INTO SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGY

Title: Designing an ICT Strategy using the Balanced Scorecard

The Tasks

Your assignment team, comprising four students, is a consultancy group who has already investigated the business of HealthyGlow Natural Health Products (HGNHP), producing a feasibility report.  Some information about HGNHP, and the feasibility report, is contained in the attached case study.

The next decision you need to make concerns the appropriate strategic decisions extracted from the research your group has conducted in the weekly tutorials for the various requirements you have identified in and around the case study.  It is these decisions and application of them in The Balanced Scorecard that are the subject of this assignment.

(A)          As individuals within your team you must agree the assignment of an individual BSC perspective.

  1. The objective of your individual research will be to produce a report on how your allocated “perspectives” may embrace the emerging technologies core to the module (as discussed on a weekly basis), including their strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Your research must also identify two examples of the technologies in practice.
  3. One example should be of “good practice” where it has been used appropriately and successfully and the other example should be of “useful but not successful practice” where it has been used inappropriately and or unsuccessfully.  Your conclusion should highlight lessons to be learnt from your examples.
  • The report in this section of the assignment should be at least 1500 words per person, and it should be clearly identified with the name of the author.
  • All research will be appropriately referenced in accordance with the Harvard Referencing System.

(B)          The complete team should now produce a report of at least 2000 words, developing a strategy for HealthyGlow, using the Balanced Scorecard.

(C)         A first stage iteration for HealthyGlow.

(D)          A personal module reflection to include and sum up your understanding of the whole module.

(E)          Your development and progress (your learning journey)

Marking

The table below indicates the marking from the perspective of an individual student.  The report submitted will Group and Individual contributions under (A-E)

Which program offers financial help to research-oriented clinical students?

PSY 560 Clinical Psychology

23. Free-standing professional schools of psychology that offer the PsyD degree
place less emphasis on research training than university-based programs.
tend to be less expensive than university-based programs.
have higher admissions standards than university based programs.
often have quite small class sizes to facilitate clinical training.
24. Which program offers financial help to research-oriented clinical students?
National Institutes of Health Loan Repayment Program
National Institute of Mental Health Loan Forgiveness Program
National Health Service Corps
all of the above
According to the text, which of the following is NOT a characteristic of gradu-
ate training in clinical psychology that applicants should take into account?
Once admitted, the workload is similar to that of undergraduate school.
Often two moves will be necessary, one to attend school and another to com-
plete an internship.
Since programs have different areas of focus, careful examination of programs
is important.
While some financial assistance is available, students often live at the poverty
level for several years.

Written Assignment for Unit Four
Include your name. student number. course number. course title and unit number on each page
of your written assignment (this is for your protection in case your materials become separated).
Begin each written assignment by identifying the question number you are answering followed by
the actual question itself (in bold type).
Use a standard essay format for responses to all questions (i.e. an introduction. middle
paragraphs and conclusion).
Responses must be submitted as a MS Word Document only, typed double-spaced. using a
standard font (i.e. Times New Roman) and 12 point type size.
Word count is NOT one of the criteria that is used in assigning points to written assignments. However,
students who are successful in earning the maximum number of points tend to submit written assignments
that fall in the following ranges:
Undergraduate courses: 350 – 500 words or 1 – 2 pages.
Graduate courses: 500 – 750 words or 2 – 3 pages.
Doctoral courses: 750 – 1000 words or 4 – 5 pages.
