Affordable Healthcare and Medicaid insurance for all Americans

Affordable Healthcare and Medicaid insurance for all Americans

Method

Briefly introduce your next capstone section.  While this may seem redundant at each section, it is important to remind the reader of your research at the beginning of each section. The reason for this? In the event someone is interested in your research, but they do not want to read the entire manuscript, they can easily learn about your research in the beginning of every section.

Research Method and Design Appropriateness

Elaborate on the differences among various research methodologies. What are the differences between qualitative research and quantitative research? Which was more appropriate for your study? Why? More than likely, this will be a descriptive research project, focusing more on the literature surrounding the topic, rather than conducting actual quantitative or qualitative research.

Population

Discuss your study population. The study population is the larger picture of the research. If you were conducting research focused on childhood education, your study population would include children who are in school. This may be at a local level, state level, national level, or even at the global level. You determine the study population by how big you want the scope of your project to be.

Sampling Frame

Elaborate on your sampling frame here. The sampling frame is the smaller picture of the study population that you can actually obtain information from. For instance, in the same research that is interested in childhood education, the sampling frame may be 10 students from a local school. These ten students would then be used in your data collection process.

Data Collection

Discuss the collection of your data. Was it quantitative or qualitative? How did you collect the data? How did you protect the integrity of the data? For our example, if 10 nursing home residents could be interviewed; this would be qualitative in nature. Likewise, conducting a numerical poll would be quantitative. If you conduct personal interviews, you will want to ensure minimal researcher bias.

Data Anal

What kind of fact pattern are you looking for? Do you want to explore a local case or a nationally publicized story?

Journal Assignment instructions:

The final project for this course is a case study that you will select, analyze, and report on using the IRAC (issue, rule, application, conclusion) format. Review the description of the final project in the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document. Visit the selected resources or other sources for locating reported case law. Think about the kind of case you would like to analyze. Create a journal entry outlining your preliminary thoughts for the project. What type of provider (hospital, nursing home, doctor, dentist, etc.) will be involved in your case? What kind of fact pattern are you looking for? Do you want to explore a local case or a nationally publicized story? Where will you find your case? What research have you done so far? What kinds of questions do you want to answer? Your journal entry should be at least 300 words. Outside sources are not required.

What additional competencies should the BSN nurse demonstrate compared to an ADN after the incident?

Differentiated Essential Competencies (DECs)
Formal APA Paper Guidelines and Grading Rubric

This assignment will be a formal three to five page paper (excluding title and reference page) written in APA (6th ed.) format examining the Differentiated Essential Competencies (DECs). The case scenario below will be used to answer the questions on the grading rubric.

CASE SCENARIO: An ADN nurse and a transport tech are having a personal social conversation while transferring an elderly patient from a wheelchair to a hospital bed. Neither are being mindful of the patients ability to transfer safely. While normally capable of transferring with minimal assistance, the patient was having difficulty this day due to weakness from episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. The patient falls and as a result suffers a fractured left femur.

The correct reference for the DECS when creating your reference page for this assignment is as follows:

Texas Board of Nursing (2011). Differentiated essential competencies of graduates of Texas nursing programs evidenced by knowledge, clinical judgments, and behaviors: Vocational, diploma/associate degree, baccalaureate degree.

Other resources that may be used to obtain information for writing this paper are a current (less than five years old) Fundamentals of Nursing textbook, current professional literature, and/or ANAs Code of Ethics. https://www.nursingworld.org/codeofethics

Introduction is inviting to the reader, clearly states the main topic, and previews the structure of the paper. 10
Background

Gives a brief background and description of the DECS and its purpose. 20
Application of the DECs

Clearly applies the DECs to the scenario, answering the questions posed, and details the differences in the competencies in terms of the ADN vs the BSN nurse.

1. After the patient fall, what steps should the ADN and BSN nurse initially take?
2. Which competencies would the nurse be expected to demonstrate as a Provider of Care or Member of the Health Care Team?
3. What additional competencies should the BSN nurse demonstrate compared to an ADN after the incident?
25
Legal and Ethical Application of the DECs

Includes terms, information, and responsibilities of the nurse related to both legal and ethical issues applicable in this scenario. Includes an additional source for legal and ethical issues. 25
Conclusion

Based on the Managing and budgeting the finances of a healthcare clinic. Managing nursing budgets, salaries, expenditures, maintaining annual budgets.

Week 5: Final Project Summary
In this course, you have been asked to provide an analysis of a current nursing or patient care problem which has an impact on the hospitals budget. Specifically, you have described the problem, demonstrated a proposed analysis of the problem, identified the potential impact of the problem on the current budget and recommended potential solutions to the problem. This week, you will create a power point presentation, including notes pages to explain each of the concepts in depth. As you create this project, reflect on the various aspects of the budgeting process you have learned throughout this course and the feedback you have received from the facilitator on the individual parts of this assignment throughout the course.
