In this Database Design Proposal, you are required to design and develop a database which will be used to compile and report distilled information using clinical health care data. The Proposal Outline is the initial step of this assignment.

The Database Design Proposal assignment consists of several parts which are due in various modules throughout the course. The assignment will also be referred to in some of the other individual assignments within the course. Module 1 discussion focused on data types and their categories and some challenges and strategies of dealing with data. In this Database Design Proposal, you are required to design and develop a database which will be used to compile and report distilled information using clinical health care data. The Proposal Outline is the initial step of this assignment. Create a short outline of about 250–500 words of the project proposal. In the outline, briefly define and describe the scenario for which the database will be designed, the major problem(s) that the users in the given scenario would solve, and any other additional components of a standard project proposal outline that are needed. Utilize the following outline as a guideline: 1) Title Page 2) Abstract: A summary of the whole proposal in about 75 words. 3) Introduction: The introduction should explain the situation, the cause of the problems, the statement of the project problem, and definition of terms. 4) Solution: This should include the objectives of what needs to be created to solve the problem and achieve the proposed outcomes. Identify the limits of the project and outline steps required to meet the above stated objectives. 5) Resources: What resources will be required for this project? 6) Budget: What is the estimated budget? 7) Users (Personnel/Credentials): Who are your users? What are their competencies? 8) Conclusion: This part should clearly point out the value of the project with emphasis on feasibility, necessity, usefulness, and the benefit of the expected results. APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected. This assignment uses a grading rubric. Instructors will be using the rubric to grade the assignment; therefore, students should review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment. This is an ongoing project and the feedback from the instructor at every stage will help you in improving your final project. Be sure to consult with your instructor throughout the course and incorporate suggestions and recommendations in your project.

A critical analysis of a health promotion intervention: Diabetes effecting Schizophrenia patients

Title: A critical analysis of a health promotion intervention: Diabetes effecting Schizophrenia patients

  1. A 2000 word essay based on a health promotion on Diabetes effecting Schizophrenia patients
  2. activity that you have undertaken (or closely participated in) whilst on clinical placement.
  1. A rationale for the importance/necessity of the health promotion (hp) intervention that includes relevant epidemiological data and relates to contemporary health and/or social policy
  1. Application of a suitable health promotion model and/ or behaviour change theory to the activity undertaken.
  1. Critical consideration of health literacy in both the delivery of the health promotion activity and any supporting materials used.
  1. An evaluation of your health promotion activity.
  • You need to demonstrate sound understanding of health promotion policy, evidence and theory related to your topic area.
  • You will not be able to address every health promotion theory, choose one model only and apply this to your topic;
  • Your essay should have a logical structure and have a systematic approach to care based on the Nursing Process.
  • Consider a paragraph for each concept and aspect of your essay.
  • Lead the reader through your discussion by signposting.
  • You need to present a balanced discussion and a range of perspectives.
  • Consider application of your concepts and theory from the viewpoints of all stakeholders.
  • Your points should be logical and reasoned.

Explain how the attributes of the effective advocacy programs you researched could be applied to your proposed advocacy campaign.

This week, begin developing your health advocacy campaign by focusing on the following:

Identifying a Problem

To prepare:

  • Select a population health issue of interest to you and identify the population affected by the issue.
  • Locate two scholarly articles, each of which provides a description of an effective health advocacy program that addresses your issue.
  • Analyze the attributes of the programs to determine what made them effective. wk
  • Reflect on a policy you could propose or a change to a current policy to further improve the health of the population you selected with regard to the issue.
  • Consider how you could develop an advocacy program, applying the attributes identified in similar, effective programs.

To complete:

For this section of your paper (approximately 3–4 pages in length) address the following:

  • Describe your selected population health issue and the population affected by this issue.
  • Summarize the advocacy programs you researched in this area.
  • Explain the attributes that made those programs effective.
  • Develop a plan for a health advocacy campaign that seeks to create a new policy or change an existing policy with regard to the issue and population you selected. Be sure to include in your plan:
  • A description of the public health issue and proposed policy solution
  • Specific objectives for the policy you want to be implemented
  • The means by which you will convey information to various stakeholders on the need for this policy change
  • Be sure your proposed need is substantiated by data and evidence.
  • Methods of establishing support for the policy, including how to influence policymakers
  • Explain how the attributes of the effective advocacy programs you researched could be applied to your proposed advocacy campaign.

Discuss statistical tests that will be used to analyze quantitative data.

As a counseling practitioner, there is a very good chance that you will have the opportunity to conduct research, or to evaluate the needs and effectiveness of an agency, department, or program. Whether evaluating the effectiveness of a program or conducting basic or applied research, you will need to understand research concepts and design strategies. For this assignment, you will be creating an 8-10 page Research Proposal for a $5,000,000 research grant that you would like pursue from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Additionally, you will create a presentation of approximately 6-8 slides for the Board of Directors and research grant award committee.

Research Proposal:
First, choose a counseling related topic that would be relevant and worthy for a research study. This would include focus on a specific diagnosis or mental disorder, treatment approach or technique, counseling theory, population, other mental health issue, or program where clients are being served in relation to clinical mental health services. Make sure to choose a topic that is relevant to clinical mental health counselors.

Part I: Report

Develop an 8-10 page Research Proposal to submit to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in application for the $5,000,000 research grant. Follow the below outline:

Introduction: Introduce the research topic and clearly state the purpose of the study.

Literature Review: Conduct and present a review of current literature related to the topic. The literature review should be used to identify the existing gaps (what is unknown) in the literature about your topic. Your literature review must be supported by at least 7 current (2009-2016), scholarly, peer-reviewed sources.

Statement of the Problem: Based on a review of the literature, describe the problem to be addressed and the need for the study. The study should fill a gap(s) identified in your review of the literature and essentially answer the question So what?.

Research Question and Hypotheses: Based on your understanding of the problem and the gaps in the literature that need to be addressed, develop a research question (RQ) and a related null and directional alternative hypothesis that will be tested in the study.

Methodology: Choose a quantitative research design for which you can clearly explain whythe design is appropriate in the study. Include the following and provide related explanations for the appropriateness of each:
Research design
Participants
Sampling technique
Instruments (include the reliability index and sample questions)
Method for collecting supportive qualitative data
Procedures
Ethical issues

Results:
Discuss statistical tests that will be used to analyze quantitative data.
Explain strategy that will be used to analyze qualitative data.
Determine possible threats to validity (both internal and external) and steps that will be taken to control for these threats.
