Analyze the health status of a specific minority group. Select a minority group that is represented in the United States

Analyze the health status of a specific minority group. Select a minority group that is represented in the United States (examples include: American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian American, Black orAfrican American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander.) In an essay of 750-1,000 words, compare and contrast the health status of the minority group you have selected to the national average. Consider the cultural, socioeconomic, and sociopolitical barriers to health. How do race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and education influence health for the minority group you have selected? Address the following in your essay: What is the current health status of this minority group? How is health promotion defined by the group? What health disparities exist for this group? Describe at leastone approach using thethree levels of health promotion prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary) that is likely to be the most effective given the unique needs of the minority group you have selected. Provide an explanation of why it might be the most effective choice. Cite a minimum ofthree references in the paper. You will find important health information regarding minority groups by exploring the following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) links: Minority Health: http://www.cdc.gov/minorityhealth/index.html Racial and Ethnic Minority Populations: http://www.cdc.gov/minorityhealth/populations/remp.html Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Describe your overall interpretation of what the data seems to indicate.

The topic revolves around controlling HIV contraction rates.
This is viewed by health care and medical professionals as a “current” problem.

1. Descriptive Analysis of Dataset
The first step in evaluating a set of data is to conduct univariate and multi-variate descriptive analysis of each variable in the dataset.
a. Continuous variables
Prepare tables that show the key continuous variable descriptive statistics.

Below each table describe the insights you gain about your dataset from the table.

(i). Central Tendency
Prepare a table that lists the Mean, Median and Mode for each of the 3 continuous variables in the dataset.
(ii). Variation
Prepare a table that lists the Maximum and Minimum values and the standard deviation for each of the 3 continuous variables in the dataset.
b. Categorical variables
Prepare tables that show the frequency of the values for the categorical variables in the data set. The tables should show both the count of the number of occurrences of each value and the % of the total number of observations (200) represented by each value. An easy way to create these tables is to use the PivotTable function within Excel. You may need to use the Microsoft or YouTube tutorials to learn how to use the PivotTable function. You can also generate these tables in Brightstat.

Below each table describe the insights you gain about your dataset from the table.

(i). One-way Table
For each categorical variable, prepare a table that shows the count and percentage of total of each value of the variable in the dataset.
(ii). Multi-way Table
For each pair of categorical variables, prepare a table that shows the count and percentage of total of each value of the variables in the dataset.

2. Graphic Analysis of Dataset
One of the easiest techniques for developing an basic understanding of your data is graphic analysis. Prepare a graph for each pairing listed below. The first listed variable goes on the “Y” axis and the “by” variable goes on the “X” axis. For example a graph of Height by Age places the “Height” variable on the “Y” axis (vertical) and “Age” on the “X” axis (horizontal).

Below each graph describe the insights you gain about your dataset from the graph.

• FEV by Age
• FEV by Height
• Age by Ethnic
• Age by Gender
• Age by Smoke
• FEV by Ethnic
• FEV by Gender
• FEV by Smoke

3. Describe your overall interpretation of what the data seems to indicate.

• If you think you have enough information to formulate a research question at this point, clearly state the research question.
• If you stated a research question, what is your hypothesis?

What efforts are being taken to improve the healthcare of your country’s population? Nationally, WHO, CDC, Non-governmental organizations

Final Country Project: You will choose a country from a list of countries and write a paper. As this is a global perspectives course, you will be required to research and describe the current overall health and health care situation/atmosphere of the country, geo-climatic, political, and socio-economic challenges related to health of its population, and the World Health Organization’s and United Nations’ plans in collaboration with that country’s government to improve the situation.
Considerations:

A) What is the health care system like in the country you choose? Does it differ by village, province, etc. and if so, how?
a. Mortality
b. Longevity
c. Birth rates
d. Healthcare system
i. Ratio of providers to citizens
ii. Hospital numbers
iii. EMS presence
B) Hazard analysis. What are the current threats to the healthcare infrastructure of your country? Climate, geography, political, socio-economic, infectious disease, technological, etc.
C) Then, using a disaster (natural, technological; accidental, intentional) that occurred in your country, describe how the health care system handled the disaster, including any aid it may have received from other countries. Was your country adequately prepared to handle your disaster? Describe how it was or was not prepared and what lessons were learned from the disaster and your country’s response.
D) What efforts are being taken to improve the healthcare of your country’s population? Nationally, WHO, CDC, Non-governmental organizations
