Rhetoric-In-Practice

You will write a rhetorical analysis of your project that demonstrates the clarity and complexity of your rhetorical situation and analyzes the rhetorical choices you’ve made in executing the project. This should include an examination of the stylistic choices you made in composing the language, visuals, sound, and any other design elements of the project. You’ll integrate secondary sources that demonstrate that the rhetorical choices you’ve made are suitable and deliberate, and that the conception and execution of your project are based on strong research.

Please review the WR39B chapter in The Anteater’s Guide to Writing for additional tips and guidelines.

Biosocial factors that influence individual’s behavior

We’re going to pretend to place you in an extreme environment. Imagine for a moment, that society has
collapsed and there is no governmental structure or laws in place to address human behavior—theft and
violent crime are not going to be addressed unless you address it.
Describe how you think the general population would react. For example, do you think people will come
together and cooperatively help everyone out? Or do you think there would be more violence/crime? Describe
how you think most people would respond to this environmental shift.
Describe how you think you would respond to the environmental shift and people’s changing behaviors. Would
you be more or less aggressive than in the first scenario? Would you be more or less okay with the idea of
stealing from someone in this alternative reality than in the first part? What about other crimes?
This shift in how aggressive you are demonstrates how your phenotype changes based on your environmental
input even though your genes/genotype remain exactly the same.
Finally, consider how this exercise relates to crime and criminal behavior. How does this help you understand
the potential biosocial explanations for crime/criminality?

corporation, as a legal choice that all entrepreneurs face. Using the information presented in Chapter 9, weigh
your options. As a practical matter, do, as the chapter advises, take an interest in the legal documents and
provisions associated with the forms of business organization that are under your consideration. Then clearly
and concisely explain all and while you identify the best legal structure for your proposed venture to include
why, submitting your work in writing along with other details regarding firm management, including your role
and that of any outside consultants, ownership and compensation arrangements, and other critical factors.
You should examine a famous trademark and explain why it is symbolic of the organization. Why would a
trademark be important intellectual property protection for your venture?
You should also watch Guy Kawasaki video – “don’t write a mission statement, write a mantra for the video.
Then you should attempt to write the “mantra” for their venture concept.
